This kauri building was gifted to the Homestead property several years ago and has been extensively renovated. The modern, commercial kitchen enables volunteers to serve Athenree Teas on days when the house is open to the public.

It has become a popular venue for visitors and the Station platform can accommodate up to 50 guests for various functions.

This building was originally located in the Athenree Gorge and it was relocated (eventually to the Homestead site) when the railway line was closed in 1978.
The line had been open since 1928.
